Kaedim or Meshy will produce:• A basic mesh of the robot• Rough geometry for the hallwayYou’ll receive a downloadable .obj or .fbx file. This mesh is imperfect—that’s expected. AI gives us a rough block of clay that we will refine.
Step Three: Refining the Model in BlenderDownload and open https://www.blender.org/.Import your AI-generated model.
Your goals here are simple:• Smooth and refine the robot’s shape• Fix awkward geometry• Add missing details (hands, eyes, joints)• Apply materials and colors• Create UV maps if needed
It’s helpful to switch to wireframe mode so you can see the mesh inside. Remove any strange internal faces or floating geometry. This cleanup phase gives your model structure and strength.
Step Four: Auto-Rigging the CharacterRigging by hand is a skill that takes many months. For this project, we’ll use auto-rigging.
Go to https://www.mixamo.com/.Upload your fixed robot model (use FBX format).Mixamo analyzes the model, places bones, and creates an animation-ready skeleton.
Choose animations such as:• Idle breathing• Walking slowly• Surprised reaction
Download each animated version of your model as FBX files.
Step Five: Building the Environment With AI Depth ToolsWe return to our original concept art to generate a 3D environment.Use:• Runway ML (https://runwayml.com/)• Luma AI (https://lumalabs.ai/)• LeiaPix (https://convert.leiapix.com/)
Process:
Upload the hallway concept art.
Generate a depth map and extended 3D scene.
Export it as a point cloud or 3D mesh (Luma gives best results).
You now have a futuristic hallway with navigable 3D space.
Step Six: Bringing Everything Together in Unreal EngineInstall Unreal Engine: https://www.unrealengine.com/Start a blank project.
Import the following:• Robot animation files from Mixamo• Clean robot mesh from Blender• Hallway environment mesh from Luma• Textures and materials
Place the robot in the hallway.Assign animations using Unreal’s Animation Blueprint.
Use Sequencer to plan a short cinematic:• Camera dollies behind robot• Robot walks forward• Glowing object appears• Robot reacts with curiosity• Fade to black
This becomes the backbone of your animation sequence.
Step Seven: Exporting the Final AnimationIn Unreal, choose:Cinematics → Render MovieRender as .mp4 or .mov at 1080p or 4K.
You now have a complete AI-enhanced 3D animation created from a single idea.
